Distinct Advantage DKP SYstem
What is DKP? - DKP (Dragon Kill Points), put simply, is credit that you earn by raiding to spend on loot that drops from bosses.
How you receive DKP - We distribute DKP for time spent raiding or waitlisting with us, and for the bosses killed while you raid/waitlist with us. Our distribution rates are detailed below.
- Regular Raid Night - Raid Time (1 dkp per hour), Boss Kill (2 dkp)
- Progression Raid Night - Raid Time (5 dkp per half hour), First Boss Kill (5 dkp)
- Dkp Decay - 10% weekly
- Dkp Cap - None
DKP Decay - We use the weekly decay of DKP to prevent DKP hoarding by members of the guild. It encourages players to spend DKP on gear and allows new members of the guild to earn competitive DKP amounts more quickly. For this reason, there is no hard DKP cap.
Keeping track of your dkp - Players are responsible for keeping track of their own DKP. You may use the Rapid Raid section of the guild site to check your DKP at any time. If you notice an issue with your DKP, please send a forums mail to Gilias, who will look into and fix what problems are found. If you can provide specifics into what you believe is incorrect, that would be helpful. Please do not contact Gilias during raids concerning DKP issues, as nothing can be done to correct the issue in-raid... unless your Gilias' wife (Ariwin), who reserves the right to use her personal weapon called Mr.Smiley to put a quick-fix on any dkp anomalies she finds. :)
Bidding on epix - We use an addon called Bidder for our DKP bidding system in a silent auction against the other members of the raid. The Bidder system allows us to distribute loot quickly and fairly. No bias is given towards armor class or DPS class (i.e. a paladin may outbid a druid on a leather piece, a rogue may outbid a hunter on a ranged weapon). The default bid (the lowest amount an item may be given for) is 5 dkp. You are allowed to place a default bid even if you don't have the dkp to cover it. You may even go negative on a default bid. We would rather see an item get received and used in some capacity than sharded. If more than one member of the raid bids on an item, the item will be received by the highest bidder at the cost of the second highest bid + 1 dkp. In the event of a "tie" bid, the members who tied the bid will roll for the item. The member who wins the roll recieves the item at the cost of the DKP bid they submitted. An example of a typical item bid is below.
Player A bids 21 DKP on Fury of the Five Flights
Player B bids 53 DKP on Fury of the Five Flights
Player C bids 5 DKP on Fury of the Five Flights
In this case, Player B would win the item at the cost of 22 DKP.
If you wish to bid on an item for your offspec (a spec different than the spec you declare to the guild), you are limited to a bid of 5 dkp. The same is true for alts. You may raid with an alt, but you may only bid 5 dkp on items you would like for your alt.
DKP/Bidding Addon Requirement - You must install both Bidder and Bidder_BossAuction in order to bid on items in the raid. Bidder_BossAuction is an "out of date" addon. In order to enable it, you much go into the addons screen at your character selection screen and click the checkbox to enable out of date addons. The links to Bidder and Bidder BossAuction are below.

Waitlisting - On nights when you are not selected to attend a raid, you may waitlist. This allows the officers to know who is available as a backup in case a player in the raid needs to leave early. Players who waitlist earn the same DKP as members in the raid for the time period in which they are waitlisted. The rules related to waitlisting are listed below.
* You may waitlist and go off to do something else. However, you must leave us some method of reaching you if you are needed. If you are going to log to an alt, whisper the person maintaining the waitlist to notify us the name of the alt you will be on.
* If you are called in to raid, you have a short period of time to ready yourself and come to the raid location as soon as possible. If you are instancing or grouping with anyone else, you must drop your group and come to the raid. Refusing to drop your current activity to raid will revoke any DKP you earned during that waitlisting period. Other consequences may occur at officer discretion.
* The opening of the waitlist will be announced after the raid composition is complete (or nearing completion). To waitlist, you whisper the officer maintaining the waitlist the word "listme" (without the quotes). You must wait until the opening of the waitlist is announced or it will not accept your entry.
It's a lot of reading isn't it? Thanks for your patience! If you have any further questions regarding our DKP system, you may contact Gilias. :)
